A good news for the fans of OnePlus mobile phones.
OnePlus has officially launched  its new mobile phone ‘OnePlus 5 Limited Edition‘. However for the time being this phone will only be available  in limited features/ units/ configuration.

The OnePlus 5 (also abbreviated as OP5) is a smartphone made by OnePlus. It is the successor to the OnePlus 3T released in 2016. The OnePlus 5 was officially launched on June 22 in India.

Official Launch: The launched phone is in Soft Gold Limited Edition, a colour variant of OnePlus 5 smartphone. It was launched in India on Monday 7th August, 2017.
Slogan: ‘Dual Camera. Clearer Photos’.
Limited Edition: Notably, the company has only introduced the Soft Gold colour variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB built-in storage configuration and not the 8GB RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage combo.

OnePlus 5: Limited Edition Soft Gold
The OnePlus 5 in the soft gold will be sold only in 64GB version and it will cost Rs 32,999, while is same as the price of similarly-configured OnePlus 5 in slate grey variant. Also, OnePlus is saying that this is a limited edition phone and hence it may not be available in large quantities. In addition to the soft gold variant, OnePlus is also introducing the slate grey variant in 128GB storage option today. This too will go on sale on August 9.

Other than the new colour, the new OnePlus 5 variant has exactly the same hardware and features that OnePlus introduced with the slate grey and midnight black variants in June in India. In other words, other than the colour, nothing else changes.

How to purchase: The new colour variant will be available for purchase through Amazon India and company’s own website starting 12am on Wednesday, August 9, at Ind. Rs. 32,999/-. As can be expected thanks to the name, the new colour variant of the smartphone will only be available in limited stocks.

Company Release: The company announced in its release that:

  • the 8GB RAM/128GB storage variant of OnePlus 5 will now be made available in Slate Gray colour as well at Rs. 37,999 (Indian Rupees)
  • stocks for this variant will become available in the upcoming weeks
  • 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant now has two colour options on offer – Slate Gray and Soft Gold
  • while the 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage also has two colour options on offer – Midnight Black and Slate Gray.
  • It takes an average of 180 days to create and perfect a coating of soft gold. Getting a perfectly even and light colour starts with running premium aluminium alloy through a diamond cutter. The surface is then sandblasted and polished with intense precision. Each second matters in this process, or the anodised colour takes on a different shade. It’s an extensive process, but the result is worth it- a stunning matte finish, pleasing to see and feel.
  • The Soft Gold colour variant and the Slate Gray 8GB RAM variant will also be made available for purchase at the company’s OnePlus Experience stores in selected cities of India.
  • Separately, OnePlus has also introduced three icon packs for OnePlus 5 – standard OnePlus icon pack, OnePlus round icons, and OnePlus square icons, to the Google Play store.
