What's New?
You all would agree to the fact that everyone from a youngster to an old age person loves to utilize time with mobile. We are so addicted to the phones that we even prefer to play with mobile addiction while sitting with family. Research complements the fact that mobile phones and other techno devices have reduced the social and family time. Like wise many people are busy with their phones during eating whether be it at home, school, college, university, offices or private gatherings.
McDonald’s has a better idea to tackle this. McDonald wants people to enjoy their time in a best form with their families while they dine in at McDonald outlets. Here is how they have initiated this idea by locking the phone in lockers and then eat without phones. This is a good alternative to our technology addiction.
‘Phone off Fun On’ campaign:
In one of its branches in Singapore, encouraging diners to take a break from the virtual world and have real conversations over meals.
The campaign is called "Phone off. Fun on."
Named the “Phone off. Fun On.” campaign, the first 100 transparent lockers are installed in the McDonald’s Marine Cove outlet.
The campaign is called "Phone off. Fun on."
According to a survey of 302 parents conducted by McDonald’s in Singapore, most (98%) say they use their mobile device whenever they’re with family and more than two-thirds of them admitted using smartphones during meals. Most parents also said their kids use their phone during family time.
“This ‘Phone Off, Fun On’ initiative is part of our efforts to advocate family togetherness and encourage families to spend quality time together,” says Linda Ming, director of McDonald’s Singapore’s brand communications and customer care.
Although the campaign primarily targets families, the service is free for anyone to use. The campaign will be extended to other outlets on the basis of feedback received from this one.
